Mrs. Emmett Edwards enjoyed the weekend in Watkinsville with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Martin. They attended the wedding of her nephew, Jonathon Edwards, grandson of former Wilkes Countians, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edwards and son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Edwards of Atlanta, to Amy Elizabeth Holland at the State Botanical Gardens. Mrs. Edwards also attended church with her family Sunday at Mars Hill Baptist Church. +Doug Pasco of Marietta enjoyed the weekend with his mother, Mrs. E.E. Pasco. +Mr. and Mrs. Steve Blackmon spent Wednesday in Roswell and attended the memorial service for Rev. B.G. Munro who died May 20. Rev. Munro served as minister for the Washington Presbyterian Church during the late l950s. He also served in the U. S. Navy at Duke during World War II and was a classmate of Mr. Blackmon. +Travis Armour of Bear Creek, N.C., returned home Tuesday after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Alton Ray. +Guests of Mrs. James Johnson Memorial Day weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Tony Swain of Sarasota, Fla. On Sunday afternoon they were all joined by Rev. and Mrs. Bob Murphy of Bishop, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Verran of Thomasville, Arvid Johnson and Dr. and Mrs. Mark Waters for a service to inter the ashes of Mrs. Swain and Mr. Verran's parents and Mrs. Johnson's sister, W.T. (Billy) Verran and Wush Ware Verran on the Ware Square at Resthaven Cemetery. Rev. Murphy conducted the service.
