Mr. and Mrs. Chad Thornton were guests of honor at a barbecue and baby shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Thornton on Saturday evening, May 13. Assisting in entertaining were Mr. and Mrs. Marc Hammond and Katie McKellar.

Upon arrival Mrs. Thornton was presented a corsage of daisies entwined with baby socks and tied with blue checked ribbon.

For the occasion picnic tables, covered in blue cloths, held arrangements of baby bottles tied with blue checked ribbon and filled with assorted wildflowers and daisies.

From the deck guests were served appetizers of queso and spinach dips and chips and assorted vegetables and dip. Tin tubs held a variety of iced drinks.

A bountiful meal of barbecued chicken with all the trimmings that included baked beans, slaw, potato salad and breads with Chocolate Delight for dessert was enjoyed by guests before moving to the sunroom where Mr. and Mrs. Thornton were showered with gifts.

The prospective parents were presented a portable baby swing from the hosts and hostesses.

Approximately 40 guests attended.
