Katy Meech of Washington was guest of honor at a baby shower on Saturday afternoon, May 27, at The Fitzpatrick Hotel. Hostesses were Sherri Bailey, Susan Chafin, Sasha Lance and Lisa Isham.

For the occasion Mrs. Meech wore a black dress trimmed in gold. She and her mother, Nancy Sisson of Washington, were presented corsages of daisies accented with blue ribbon.

Guests signed a baby keepsake book as they arrived and also wrote some "words of wisdom" for the mom-to-be on paper baby shirts that were then hung on a line of blue gingham ribbon. Several baby shower games were enjoyed by the guests and small gifts were given to the winners.

The conference room at The Fitzpatrick was decorated with white linen cloths with flower arrangements of white daisies in baby

bottles adorned with blue ribbon and a pacifier. Baby bottles filled with jelly beans were used as balloon weights.

Heavy hors d'oeuvres were enjoyed with baby blue punch that served as a nesting pool for two rubber ducks.

The gift table was decorated with toy planes and construction trucks. A collage of baby pictures of the prospective parents was also used for decoration.

The hostesses presented Mrs. Meech an activity seat as well as the bottles, toys and ducks used for decoration.

Forty guests were invited. A special out-of-town guest was Ruth McAvoy Pollock of Salt Lake City, Utah. Also present were prospective maternal aunt Kelly Powell and great-aunt Faye McAvoy of Washington Wilkes.
