Dehstiny Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tracy Smith, was six years old on June 18.

The day before her birthday, Dehstiny's family entertained at a swimming party and cookout at Lake Amity in Lincoln County. Enjoying hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings and an Ice Age II birthday cake with Dehstiny and family were her sister, Tiya; cousins, Bre and Ree Smith of Lincolnton, Gerald Anderson of Metasville and Maryiah Johnson of Athens; and friends, Shannon Turner, Hope Davis, Michelle Hora, Zack and Brent Bernal, Meghan and Ethan Ramos, Tim and T. J. Mickens, Stephen and Stephanie Adams, Lisa Smith and Ry, Aeronia Davis, Shanta Young, Kivanta and Kemita, of Washington. The children received water guns and goody bags as favors. Dehstiny's "Da", grandfather Curtis Smith, presented her a special gift of a Monopoly game and her sister, Tiya, her own special present.

On her birthday Dehstiny was honored by her father again at a family cookout in Lincoln County. Guests enjoyed barbecued chicken and all the trimmings. The children enjoyed games, swimming and playing on the playground.
