Lawson Owen treated to dinosaur theme birthday party
Lawson Owen, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Owen III, celebrated his second birthday at his home on Drinkard Drive Saturday, June 24. His birthday was June 25.
Lawson was treated to a dinosaur theme party. A fourfoot dinosaur guarded his green and orange dinosaur cake.
Hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings, corn on the cob, baked beans, coleslaw, chips and homemade ice cream were served.
The children enjoyed playing on Lawson's new Play System, a special birthday gift. Everyone also played with water balloons, squirt guns and water slide. Fireworks ended the evening.
Celebrating with Lawson and his parents were his brother, Addison; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Mathews of Rayle and Mr. and Mrs. John Owen Jr. of Elberton; greatgrandfather, Loyd Mathews of Lexington; great-uncle and great-aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mathews of Crawford; uncles and aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Mathews of Rayle, Mrs. Eugene Hagood and Sammy Owen of Elberton; cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Denver Hagood and Dillon Owen of Elberton, Heather Hagood of Athens and Samantha Owen of Abbeville, S.C.; and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Shane Gunter and Ty of Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Len Dunn, Ashton and Lola of Elberton and Todd Rutherford of Athens.
On Sunday, June 25, Lawson was treated to his first movie, Cars, at the theater. After the movie he enjoyed dinner with his parents at Longhorn's Restaurant in Athens.
