Jessica Eason completes studies at Mercer with Political Science degree

Jessica Eason of WashingtonWilkes graduated from Mercer University during commencement exercises held Saturday, May 13, at Mercer's University Center in Macon.

Jessica earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in English. She is the daughter of Graham and Teresa Eason of Washington and a graduate of WashingtonWilkes Comprehensive High School.

The keynote address, "The Power of One," was presented by retiring Mercer University President Dr. R. Kirby Godsey. Diplomas were awarded to the graduates of the College of Liberal Arts by Dr. Richard C. Fallis, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts. Chuck Leavell, former keyboardist for he Rolling Stones, provided entertainment.

While a student at Mercer, Jessica was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science honor society and Gamma Sigma Alpha Greek honor society. She was also a member of Chi Omega women's fraternity and served as director for Up'til Dawn, a collegiate fund-raising organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

She will be living in Macon and will be serving as community director for the Middle Georgia office of the March of Dimes.

Jessica Eason and Brett Northenor of Warner Robins were honored at a celebration luncheon hosted by their families at Carrabba's in Macon, with approximately 30 guests in attendance. Attending with Jessica in addition to her parents were Paige Eason of Macon; Chris and Leigh Oxendine of Augusta; Mary Lee Edenfield of Baxley; and Melissa and Hannah Nail of Hazlehurst.
