Family will miss one of the state's great places
TO THE EDITOR:
Farewell, My Washington. . .
As I prepare to leave Washington, a turtle town with a big heart, I would like to pause to say a fond farewell to a place and a people who live happily in my heart henceforth and forevermore. Kenneth Rice, my husband, has been offered a position in his field of chemical engineering. Since he has unselfishly placed his career on hold for several years so that I could practice the ministry of medicine, we now are obliged as a family to remain intact and support him in the pursuit of his professional goals.
My family and I are deeply gratified by your welcoming spirit and genuine warmth that you have extended. You have regarded us as contributing members of the community, and we have been uplifted by your confidence. Our children have never encountered an unfriendly face. In my view, your friendliness and outgoing spirit enhances the reputation and image of historical Washington and embellishes its status as one of the great places in this state to live, work, and raise a family. Thank you for your kindness. We shall miss you all!
