Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shank of Lexington, S.C., spent July 2-4 with his mother, Mrs. Dot Shank. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Randman of Jackson, Mississippi, arrived Wednesday to visit her mother, Mrs. Shank. Joe and Judy Shank visited Saturday with all the family. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips went to Atlanta Friday. Saturday, they, along with Stephanie Hayes, Chip and Skyla, visited in Augusta. Mrs. Walter Tuttle and Mrs. Hill O'Neal visited in Thomson July 4. Mrs. Tuttle visited Mr. and Mrs. Robbie Newsome, Brandon and Jacob Sunday. Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway had supper with Mr. and Mrs. Troy Brown Monday evening.

I joined my parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.N. Wallace, and we spent the Fourth of July as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Goff and family in McCormick, S.C. Trace Newsome of Winterville spent several days with Shannon Thomason and Taylor McAvoy; and G.B. and me last week. Sunday guests of Mrs. Jenelle Newsome were Mr. and Mrs. David Lewis of Brunswick. Joni Bruce returned home from a nice trip to Europe July 6. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Myers attended "Thunder Over Thurmond" Saturday evening in Lincoln County. The fireworks was beautiful. Mrs. Lucille Turpin Ingram, Lona Chesnut and Roy, Hunter Sifre, Trudy Ingram, and Elizabeth Dunnaway attended the birthday party for Connor and Calley Ryll at Big Hart Creek Saturday evening. The twins were six years old and are children of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Ryll. Mrs. Keith Standard and Peyton are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Chris Standard and Hunter in Denham Springs, La. Summer Taylor is visiting this week with relatives in Florida. Lois Gay visited Sherry Newsome Friday evening. Sara Huff visited Tuesday. Sara Huff visited Linda Standard and Peyton Saturday and Sunday. Cassie Goldman and Linda and Peyton Standard visited Sara during the week. Visitors of Miss Grace Dunaway last week were Sara Huff, Linda Standard, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Dunnaway, and Bobbi Thornton. G.B. and I spent a while Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wallace in Lincoln County. Along with Mr. and Mrs. Nick Gaines and Tanner Barnett of Winterville we attended a birthday barbecue party for John D. Simmons honoring him on his 80th birthday Saturday. It was held at the home of his daughter, Cheryl Walker, and son-in-law, Syndy, and children at Rayle. It was a lovely party with lots of good food, fellowship, and laughter. The Little River Methodist Charge hosted a going away supper for their pastor, Kathy Lamon, Sunday evening at Smyrna United Methodist Church. They regret losing their pastor to a church in Augusta. Their new pastor will arrive this Sunday. He will preach at 9:30 a.m. at Smyrna and 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion. Best wishes to both pastors and families. Our prayer concerns include Michelle Smith Walker, Lacy Goldman, Gary Rogers, Charles Bradford, Stephanie Chapman, Bill Bishop, Sara Hyatt, Priscilla and Morrison Maxwell, Albert Willis, Jack Reynolds, Anna Ray Yearwood, Bryan Fanning (Iraq), Mrs. Claudelle Bonner, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Nunn, Henry and Blanche Wallace, Mike Webb, Denise Edmunds, Mrs. Mary Wright, Barry Bailey, Asa Bennett, Mary McClearen, Virginia McClearen, Joe Griffin, Leon Aycock, Libby Ivey, Mona Hall, Ethel B. Harris, Dot Shank, Ed Burdette, Jenelle Newsome, Mr. and Mrs. Dan McAvoy, Eddie Jennings, Laura Harper, Billy Glenn, Lynn Gay, and Robert Gay. Mrs. Lucille Ingram, Trudy Ingram, Mrs. Florence Ingram, and Mrs. Billy Glenn visited their nephew and cousin, Eddie Jennings, in Athens Regional Medical Center Sunday. I visited briefly with Mrs. Allen Bunch Saturday.
