Megan Wansley Mullinax, Jeffrey Scott Poole exchange vows June 3 in Simpsonville, S.C.
Mrs. Jeffrey Scott Poole Megan Wansley Mullinax of Simpsonville, S.C., and Jeffrey Scott Poole of Fountain Inn, S.C., were married in a lovely ceremony Saturday, June 3, at six o'clock in the evening in the Simpsonville First Baptist Church in Simpsonville, S.C. Rev. Randy Harling of Simpsonville, S.C., officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Gail Wansley Mullinax of Anderson, S.C., formerly of Washington, and Ronnie Anthony Mullinax of Anderson, S.C.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ballenger Poole of Fountain Inn, S.C.
The church was beautifully decorated. The altar held silver candelabra and an elegant arrangement of white roses, blue hydrangeas, peonies and greenery. Pews were marked with white ribbon, white roses and greenery.
Candles were lighted by Nicholas Emory Mullinax of Simpsonville, S.C., brother of the bride. The outer candles of the unity candle were lighted by the bride's mother and brother and the bridegroom's parents. The center candle was lighted by the wedding couple.
Honorary attendants were Mrs. Kelly Rae Markey of Tampa, Fla., who tended the guest register, and Mrs. Nathan Hughes of Greer, S.C., and Mrs. Tripp Hoover of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., who distributed programs.
Music was presented by the Saroya String Quartet of Greenville, S.C. Selections included "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and "Canon in D". Laura Bessent of Greenville, S.C., sang "The Lord's Prayer".
First Corinthians 13 was read by Lindsay Taylor of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. Poole was his son's best man. Usher-groomsmen were Nicholas Emory Mullinax; Alex Azad of Raleigh, N.C., Felix Egli and Anthony Miller of Greenville, S.C., Nathan Hughes of Greer, S.C., and James Kenniger of Simpsonville, S.C.
Mrs. Keith Dunn of Honea Path, S.C., served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Cagle of Charleston, S.C., Mrs. Travis Smith of Marietta, cousin of the bride, Lindsay Rae Taylor of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Mrs. Chris Zolecki of Blythewood, S.C.
They wore tea-length organza designs by Jasmine. The A-line espresso dresses were strapless with slightly sweetheart necklines and featured contrasting powder blue tie ribbons at the natural waists. Bouquets of light blue hydrangeas completed their attire.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was stunning in her white organza gown by Anjolique. The Aline design featured narrow vertical bands of satin ribbon that accented the entire gown. Vertical rows of clear crystals, beads and pearls elegantly accented the gown between the rows of satin ribbon. The back of the gown featured a corseted design and ended in a chapel train.
Complementing her gown were Swarovski crystal necklace and earrings.
Her fingertip veil of white silk illusion by Malis Henderson was scattered with Swarovski crystals.
She carried a Biedermeier bouquet of light blue hydrangeas, white roses, stephanotis and peonies.
For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Mullinax chose a long celadon green satin gown with pleated accents on the bodice and matching bolero jacket.
The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Poole, wore a long plum-colored sheath gown with sparkling highlights on the bodice.
Their flowers were white roses and peonies.
Reception
Following the ceremony, Mrs. Gail Wansley Mullinax entertained at a reception at Ryan-Nicholas Inn in Simpsonville, S.C.
At the top of the stairs was an elegant arrangement of blue hydrangeas, peonies, white roses and greenery.
Blue hydrangeas centered tables covered with white and blue linens.
Guests enjoyed shrimp and grits, chicken and vegetable stir fry, bowtie pasta, fresh and marinated vegetables and chocolate fondue with strawberries and pineapple.
The three-tiered white chocolate cake with white chocolate icing featured the couple's initial, P.
The couple left in a Hummer through a shower of sparklers.
Following a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, they are living in Simpsonville, S.C.

Bridesmaids Brunch
Megan Mullinax was entertained at a lovely seated brunch at Mary's Restaurant at Falls Cottage in Greenville, S.C., on June 2 given by Mrs. Andy Harper, Mrs. Sandy Loftis, Mrs. Nelle Anne Poole, all of Greenville, S.C., Mrs. Gerald Thompson of Augusta and Mrs.Travis Smith of Marietta.
Tables, covered in white, held arrangements of dahlias.
Guests enjoyed chicken salad, salad greens with raspberry vinaigrette, blueberry muffins and cantaloupe.
The bride-elect presented her bridesmaids pearl and crystal necklaces and earrings in blue and brown gift boxes. Matching round gift boxes held gifts of initialed monogrammed silver coasters.
Rehearsal Dinner
Holly Tree Country Club in Simpsonville, S.C., was the scene of the rehearsal dinner honoring Megan Mullinax and Jeff Poole on Friday evening, June 2, given by the bridegroom's parents.
The bride-elect wore a black sundress and the prospective bridegroom a black suit and pink dress shirt.
Tables were decorated with dark tan cloths and chocolate brown napkins. Centerpieces were hurricane lanterns and candles on mirrors.
Guests enjoyed a buffet of fruit and cheese appetizers, salad bar with mixed greens and dressings, entrees of chicken marsala, London broil, vegetable medley, green beans almandine, wild rice blend and oven-roasted potatoes. Desserts included a carrot cake in the shape of a running shoe, a chocolate cake with a Clemson-South Carolina theme and scanned image of the prospective couple, and cheesecake.
A slide show prepared by the prospective couple of photos of them from birth to present day delighted guests and brought happy memories.
The prospective bridegroom further entertained guests with introductory comments about each of his groomsmen and presented each a framed photo.
The evening concluded with dancing to the music of Lundy of Columbia, S.C., who entertained guests with a variety of selections from past and present.
Guests in addition to the wedding party were family and close friends who came from as far away as California, Texas, Florida and New York.
