Mr. and Mrs. John Morrow of Northern China are enjoying a visit with their family, Dr. and Mrs. John Morrow. +Mr. and Mrs. Jim Roberts were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Matt Bailey and Cameron of Central, S.C., Amberly Aycock of Lincolnton, and Phil Roberts for the holiday week at Myrtle Beach, S.C. +Visiting over the holiday weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Chafin were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Chafin, Brittni and Casey, of Forsyth and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Chafin, Whit and Lauren.
Visiting last week with Joe and Dot Harris were Mary Anne Harris of Milwaukee, Wisc., and Becky Harris Rogers of Fitzgerald. Mrs. Rogers' daughter, Mary Alice Rogers, a recent graduate of Mercer University in Macon, also visited during the week.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Tanner hosted a delightful cookout at their home on Friday night for family members visiting their mother, Mrs. Sam Bonner. Joining the Tanners were Mr. and Mrs. Coley Pettus of Bloomsdale, Mo., Richard Bush and son Alex, of Upsilanti, Mich., and Mrs. Bonner.
Bill Cannon and Lyn Randall of Tybee Island enjoyed the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Randall Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pope Jr. joined their daughter and family, Mrs. John Gentry Jr., Anna and Caroline, in welcoming home Major John Gentry Jr. at Fort Stewart who was returning from a tour of duty in Iraq with the 122 ROC. Also present to welcome him home were his mother and brothers with their families, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Carroll of Eutawville, S.C., Mr. and Mrs. Jason Gentry and Mr. and Mrs. Justin Gentry, Cameron and Thornton. The Popes continued from there to Portsmouth, Va., to attend the investiture ceremony for his cousin, Judge James Carney Hawks. While there they enjoyed visiting Mr. Pope's aunt, Mrs. Charles Hawks in Carrollton, and other relatives in the Portsmouth and Churchland area. Phillip, Carol, Bradley and Leah Blackmon of Columbus, Myra Blackmon of Athens, Steve Blackmon Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., Rich Johnson and Sarah Seay of Lawrenceville were holiday weekend guests of Steve and Eleanor Blackmon.
