Audrey Harris Jones, 80, of Washington, will be held in Virginia at a later date. Mrs. Jones died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at her home.

Mrs. Jones was born in Alley Valley, Virginia, and was the widow of Lyle Jones who died in June 2004. She graduated from James Madison University and worked as a laboratory technician in Knoxville, Tennessee. She had an extraordinary strength and courage in the face of Parkinson's Disease which has left a legacy to all who knew her. Survivors include three daughters

of Charleston, S.C., Kathy and Ricky Lindsey of Washington, and Jody and Scott Overcarsh of Stone Mountain; eight grandchildren; two brothers, S.P. Harris of Alley Valley, Va., and Harry Harris of Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Audrey Harris Jones Scholarship Fund at Gate City High School, 127 Beech Street, Gate City, Va. 24251.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of local arrangements.
