Callaway family enjoys reunion aboard 'Freedom of the Seas'
India and Grace Callaway, their mother, Kari Hudson Callaway (front, l-r), and father, Eugene Callaway (center back), gather with extended members of the Hudson family aboard "Freedom of the Seas". Kari and Eugene Callaway, along with their children, India and Grace, enjoyed a relaxing seven-day family reunion aboard the Royal Caribbean "Freedom of the Seas" currently the "biggest cruise ship ever built", according to the June 19, 2006 issue of TIME Magazine.
Joining the Callaways on July 2 were members of Mrs. Callaway's extended family, Bob and Bettie Hudson of Marietta; Michael and Lisa Hudson of Beaufort, S.C.; Beth and Steve Bowles, Michael Bowles, Haley and Katherine Barton of Alpharetta; and Sam and Kay Boyd and Erin of Atlanta.
Ports of call included Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman Islands; and Montego Bay, Jamaica.
During the week various family members enjoyed swimming with stingrays, snorkeling, scuba diving, visiting a turtle farm, touring historic locations, zip line excursions and aquatic park adventures.
Highlights included younger brother, Michael Hudson, winning the "Skinniest Legs" contest on board the ship.
Special T-shirts family members are wearing in the above photo and reading "whodathotit?" (who'd thought it?) were created for the family in recognition of the difficulties in getting everyone's schedules together for such a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
