Mrs. David Blackburn returned home Saturday after a week's stay at Hilton Head, S.C., with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Blackburn, Isabel and Emily, of Atlanta. +Cole Rousey of Bangor, Me., is spending several weeks this summer with his father, Bill Rousey, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Rousey. +Alorae Bean of Dunwoody enjoyed a week recently with her grandmother, Mrs. Wallace Rodgers, and an early birthday celebration at the Fourth of July fireworks on The Square. Alorae will be eight years old July 26. Her mother, Mrs. Donald Bean, enjoyed a short visit when she came to pickup Alorae for her return home. +Lindsey Partain of Madison was a Monday overnight guest in the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. David McClearen. +Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Smith of Stockbridge enjoyed the weekend with their cousin, Mrs. Earl George. Also visiting during the weekend was her uncle, Jimmy Alewine of Bowersville. +Visiting Sunday with Mrs. Sam Bonner were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Newbern of Raleigh, N.C., and Paul Lewis of Charleston, S.C. Mrs. Newbern is the former Paula Lewis who spent much of her childhood in Washington. +Guests Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Niemann were Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Young, Levi and Lily, of Thomson, Ernie Ward and Suzanne Reese of Woodstock, William Niemann II of Powder Springs and Mr. and Mrs. Rio Long of Washington. They enjoyed celebrating numerous family birthdays. +Mrs. Janelle Merritt of Chattanooga, Tenn., left Tuesday after several days visit with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Merritt. +Mrs. Jamie Newsome and daughter, Anna, of Martinez visited Monday with their grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Marion Newsome. +Mr. and Mrs. Paul Laymon of Hixson, Tenn., visited several days with Mrs. E. E. Pasco. +Mr. and Mrs. Edward B. Lane Jr. of Rutherfordton, N.C., and Mrs. Jimmy Crook and sons, J.E.B., Jackson and Jesse, of Hickory, N. C., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Burgess Sunday evening for a pool party and cookout at the home of Mrs. Jack Leard honoring the visit of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Walker of Lubbock, Tex. En route they visited William Higginbotham and daughters, Mrs. Susan Echols and Mrs. Joan Bowen. Mrs. Bowen shared Burgess family history and joined them for a tour of family cemeteries and homeplaces. The Lanes and Crooks also stopped in Hart and Elbert counties in search of Beggs family history on their way home Monday. +Mrs. Beverly Baker of Destin Beach, Fla., enjoyed several days
visit with her sister, Mrs. Wallace Rodgers. +Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Tenison of Dallas, Tex., will arrive Friday for several days visit with her sister, Mrs. David Blackburn. + Mr. and Mrs. Danny Barnett and granddaughter, Savanna Barnett, were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Athen Walden, Ally and Jack, of Twin City for a week's stay at Amelia Island Plantation, Fla. +Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Palmer vacationed from Wednesday until Sunday at St. George Island, Fla., with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Palmer, Rylee and Baylee, of Americus.
