Barnett wins homerun derby at '06 USSSA championships
D.J. Barnett of WashingtonWilkes participated in the USSSA Baseball AA State and World Series and placed first in the Homerun Derby, hitting four homeruns. He placed second in the Diamond Run.
The World Series was held July 18-23 in Johnston, Tennessee, and D.J. participated with the Georgia Crush team which placed 17th out of 26, and second in State Tournament. Georgia Crush competed against teams from Ohio, Tennessee, and Georgia.
The young athlete was accompanied by his mother, Jackie Barnett; his cousin, Jarrett Gaye; and his nephew, Ty Barnett.
