Aubrey Dean Flanigan, son of John David and Renee Flanigan of Lincolnton, was one year old on June 23 and celebrated his birthday with his parents and sister, Jewel Love, family and friends on two occasions.

A u b r e y ' s more recent party was at his home on July 7 when he shared the birthday celebration with his cousins, Kala and Nick Ware of Tignall. A delicious dinner of hot dogs with all the trimmings was enjoyed in addition to birthday cake and homemade ice cream. Among the special relatives attending were his grandparents, Frankie and Gloria Ware, and great-grandmother, Rose Ware.

Prior to this celebration Aubrey was treated to a cake and ice cream party on June 16 at his home on Ward Street. Guests enjoyed a delicious birthday cake baked by his aunt, Dot Snider of Lincolnton, and decorated as a sailboat. Also served was homemade strawberry, peach and vanilla ice cream.

As part of the birthday celebration, Aubrey and his friends enjoyed painting wooden sailboats inscribed with Aubrey's special date. He and his party guests also enjoyed blowing bubbles and decorating the driveway with sidewalk chalk murals.
