Washington-Wilkes girls attend all-star cheer camp

Twelve Washington-Wilkes girls with their chaperones attended Lori Morrow's University of Georgia All-Star Competitive Cheer Camp July 10-12.

Girls attending and their chaperones were Taaliyah Booker, Dennise Booker, Destiny Favors, Dorian Favors, Datlyn Lee, DeBriah Lee, Divesia Lee, Morgan Scott, Darien Todd, Erin Turman, Jasmine Turner, Carrington Tutt, Lillian Andrews Booker, Joylita Booker, LaShaunder Lee, Melissa Scott, Erica Todd, Shameco Tutt, and Keyona Wynn.

The girls were taught cheers, chants, jumps, dances, and stunts by Lori Morrow and camp instructors Casey Broadway, Casey Knox, Kari Scott, Jenny Quinton, Jenny Miller, Andrea Pierrie, and Shelly Wilkerson.

On Wednesday, the third day, the girls performed for their special guests. Destiny Favors received the "Best Attitude" award and Erin Turman received the "Best Motion" award.

Following the camp session on Wednesday, the girls enjoyed lunch at Applebee's.

The girls and their parents attended a pool party hosted by Wilhelmina Melonson and Erin Turman on July 22. Guests enjoyed swimming, delicious food, and fellowship.

Appreciation is expressed for all the support they received through doughnut sales, donations, and sponsors that made it possible for them to attend Cheer Camp.
