GSP troopers report 8 crashes, no deaths for month of August

State Troopers from the Washington Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated eight traffic crashes during the month of August in Wilkes County.
Sergeant First Class Derrick Durden said the traffic crashes resulted in seven injuries. There were not fatalities.
SFC Durden said troopers from Post 17 also issued 115 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total includes six arrests for driving under the influence; 71 citations for speeding; 10 seat belt violations. There were no child restraint violations.
Troopers also issued 147 warnings.
