Kettle Creek NSDAR holds membership coffee Sept. 18

McCorkle (l-r) enjoy a moment during the DAR Membership Coffee at the Pope home. The Kettle Creek Chapter, NSDAR, gathered at Poplar Corner, residence of Mrs. Edward B. Pope, Monday morning, September 18, for a membership coffee honoring prospective members.

Members and prospective members were welcomed by Mrs. Pope and the executive board and invited into the dining room for refreshments. The dining table held a beautiful arrangement of hydrangeas, garden flowers and plumes of pampas grass in a glass vase. Co-regents, Mrs. Gene Pollock

and Mrs. Marvin McAvoy, joined everyone in welcoming the Chapter's newest member, Mrs. Thad Broome.

Mrs. Mickey Sisson gave brief highlights on Constitution Week, September 17-23.

A special guest was Mrs. Christopher McCorkle of Warrenton, regent of the Burkhalter Chapter and recording secretary for the Georgia State Society DAR. She spoke briefly giving the mission of DAR.

A large number of members and prospective members attended.
