WLT Co. celebrates 35 years at Shelby's Reception September 30 The Washington Little Theater celebrated its 35th year as it hosted Shelby's Reception on Saturday, September 30, at Wisteria Hall, home of Jane and Jim Bundy on East Robert Toombs Avenue, following the matinee performance of "Steel Magnolias" at The Playhouse. Two entries welcomed guests to the yard for the elegant garden reception. One entry was marked with lattice panels adorned with white and pink flowers. The other entry was formed by two columns draped in ferns and topped with ferns. Guests registered at a table overlaid in pink. A large festive white tent was decorated with pink gossamer draping around the front with white garland interspersed with pink flowers. Centering the tent was a candelabrum with tapers. Pink cloths with pink lace skirting covered the buffet centered with a cherub of flowers flanked by two wrought iron candelabra with white candles. Pink flowers adorned the wedding cake, a white confection designed with two square layers and another raised round layer topped with silver wedding bells. A pink cloth covered this table placed between two tall white columns topped with ferns and swirled with gossamer. The bride's bouquet in all pink also decorated the table. Under an arch decorated with gossamer bows and centered on a pink lace skirted table was an armadillo cake, made by Kermit Hocutt of Washington. Pink gossamer and pink flowers adorned the gazebo where the silver punch bowl and gold and silver champagne fountain were featured. Guests' tables were decorated with pink cloths. Each was centered with a round arrangement of magnolia leaves and pink flowers. A delicious buffet was catered by Newton and Pam Gunter of Washington. Lonnie Martin of Lincolnton coordinated the reception. One hundred twenty-five guests attended. |
