Students involved in Youth Leadership Wilkes met last Friday to work to improve their leadership skills. With grant funds from Wilkes and Georgia Rotary Clubs providing educational materials, students prepared for future public speaking opportunities as they videod themselves. Their peers and instructors provided positive critiques. Students kicked off the leadership year with a retreat at Rock Eagle where they learned team building skills. The highlight of the weekend was the night swim. "This enthusiastic crowd worked and played hard during their weekend long retreat in August. Listen for future public service announcements and other community projects from this group of students," said Marcie Simpson.
