Kettle Creek NSDAR meets October 16 at Woman's Club

The Kettle Creek Chapter NSDAR met Monday, October 16, at the Washington Woman's Club with Mrs. Eugene Pollock, regent, presiding.

Hostesses were Mrs. Edith Lindsey, Miss C. Carol Cartledge, Mrs. M. Pete Kopecky, Mrs. W. Frank Lee and Mrs. Edward Pope.

Program chairman, Mrs. Thomas C. Thaxton, introduced the speaker, her daughter, Mrs. Brooks Brown. Mrs. Brown gave a program on their aunt, Frances Louise Nash Dumas, a POW, entitled "All This Hell".

Mrs. Pollock welcomed visitors, Millicent Copelan Arnold, Mrs. Gary Butts, Mrs. Don Crowe, Mrs. Preston Sanders and Mrs. William Singleton.

The National Defense message was read by Mrs. John Keen.

Mrs. Joe Roberson read the American Indian minute. Mrs. Wyatt Albea reported on the Crossnore School in North Carolina and Mrs. Mickey Sisson read the Constitutional minute.

Mrs. Pollock reported that a Field Genealogy Workshop will be held April, 2007, in Kennesaw. She also reported the Elijah Clark Chapter of Athens will host a tea for the State Regent, Laura Marcella Reid, on Wednesday, November 8, from 3-5 p.m. at the home of Chapter Regent, Emily Reynolds.
