We at Phillips Mill Baptist Church are blessed with many happy events which include a meal. Sunday, October 22, was one of them. For the first time in a while the church honored the pastor, Rev. Rayner, and his wife Nancy for three years with a delicious barbecue meal catered by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bentley with Young At Heart ladies bringing a variety of good desserts. In appreciation for all they have meant to the church, the arrangement of fall flowers for the worship service was also given in their honor. As part of the surprise, they were given corsages of fall colors at the close of the morning worship. Benji McAvoy had the closing prayer of thanksgiving and blessing for the meal, following comments of appreciation to Rev. Rayner. Thanks to all who had a part in this nice event. A special thanks to those who decorated the fellowship hall using the fall and Halloween theme. Rev. and Mrs. Rayner celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary
