Amy Harkins' Entrepreneurship class had a special treat on Tuesday, October 10, when Janie Cravens from McDonalds visited the class. During her visit, Cravens talked with the class on the importance of "taking care of IS."

She explained to the students how taking care of things going now would be the determining factor in their future. She also told the students the story of how her husband got started with McDonalds, how he worked hard, and how he got to where he is now. She discussed the importance of hard work and focus as you work towards your goals.

Mrs. Cravens also talked a little to the students about the great opportunities the McDonalds Corporation provides for people that are interested in a career with them. The students thoroughly enjoyed Mrs. Cravens and her discussion.

The Entrepreneurship class is one of many business classes available for students to take at the high school. In the class, students learn how to start and operate their own business. The students learn how to write a business plan, including all of the key parts of the business plan.

The key elements the class focuses on are the management team plan, the company description, the product and service plan, the vision and mission statements, the industry overview, the market analysis, the competitive analysis, the marketing plan, the operational plan, the organizational plan, the financial plan, the growth plan, the contingency plan, the executive summary, and the front matter and supporting documents.
