Boomers and Seniors of the First Baptist Church enjoyed a leaf trip to Highlands, N.C., on Thursday, October 26.

The group left Washington early for the day trip viewing beautiful scenery and leaves along the way. After arriving in Highlands, they enjoyed lunch at the restaurant of their choice. Many spent the afternoon browsing in the shops while others took advantage of the many welcoming rocking chairs and benches along the sidewalks to "people watch." The nearly perfect sunny fall day

added sparkle to the colorful leaves and the excitement of the trip as the prior forecast had been for cloudy and rainy weather.

On the trip were Mary Ann Bentley, Bill and Teresa Bishop, June Chafin, Margaret Connor, Gail Craddock, Lila Edwards, Jane Garner, Ruth Holes, Norma Hopkins, Mabel Johnson, William Johnson, Nancy McAvoy, Edythe McCall, Kay Nelms, Susan Pope, Grady and Ruth Rogers, Hazel Russell, Ed and June Smith, John and Linda Webster, Patsy Winn, and Chris Townsend, bus driver.
