Governor Sonny Perdue has proclaimed November 5 as Retired Educators Day in Georgia.

The proclamation recognizes the lasting contributions of the more than 60,000 retired educators who dedicated their professional lives to the education, growth, and development of Georgia's youth and to the betterment of the state and society.

The Lincoln-Wilkes Retired Teachers Association encourages the public to recognize and show appreciation to retired teachers on this special day.
