Washington Boy Scout Troop 34 is working towards the Citizenship and the Community Merit Badge and spent Monday evening visiting the Washington City Council meeting. The merit badge is designed to teach Boy Scouts about local government and the Council meeting was a good opportunity for them.

The Scouts not only listened to the important business being discussed

but also participated in the Council meeting. Watson Wideman led the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Adam Standard led the meeting in prayer.

Boy Scout Walker Hargrove provided Mayor Burns and the City Council with an update of Scouting activities and thanked everyone for their support of Scouting.

The Boy Scouts will also be working on Citizenship and the Nation as well as Citizenship and the World.
