We were very sad at the passing of Fred Corbett Saturday afternoon just over five months after his beloved Ann passed away. We will miss his laughter and his smile. Family, friends and neighbors have been so wonderful during his illness and death. Many of you have called, visited, sent cards, brought food, and prayed for which the family has been greatly appreciative. Fred will be greatly missed. Our deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Seba Williamson who passed away last week. He was a good Christian man and a friend to everyone who knew him and very dedicated to his family. He will be greatly missed. Our deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Evans Davis who passed away last week. He will be remembered as he worked at Belk's in Washington for many years in the shoe department and later became the manager. He was a good Christian man who was a friend to all who knew him and was very dedicated to his family. He will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Mrs. Emily Vaughn of Philomath who passed away. She also worked at Belk's for many years and was a sweet lady and made many friends while working there. She will be greatly missed. We are sorry to learn about Priscilla Maxwell falling and breaking her hip. Our prayers are with her that she will have a quick and complete recovery. The prayer list is for the Corbett family, the Williamson family, the Davis family, the Vaughn family, Priscilla Maxwell, Gary Rogers, Pete Poss, Ed Crooke, Bill Remsen, Mike Webb, Kathryn Padgett, Roberta Roper, Thomas Bunch, Bobby Parton, Ellie Frey, Louise Pless, Stephanie Chapman, Dorothy Callaway, Martha Williford, Faye Johnson, Thomas Wheatley, Sara Lynn Hyatt, Grady Rogers, Ken Spooner, and Chris Carpenter. Bonnie Boatwright spent the day Thursday with her sister, Martha Jones, in Bogart. Joining them for lunch at Fire Mountain was their sister, Frankie Jones of Athens. Doris Walker spent Thursday in Athens with her daughter, Janet Lewis. My brother, James Smith of Stephens, visited me Friday morning and I enjoyed his visit very much. Gloria Hardy was a visitor of Ruth Flynt Sunday afternoon. They always enjoy their little visits together. Aubrey and Kathryn Jackson of Mableton came down to spend a few days this week with Barry and Dana Echols, Parker Echols, and other family members. Many others came from out-of-town for the visitation, funeral, and burial of Fred Corbett. Birthday wishes go out to Lacey Davis who will be sweet sixteen on November 16. Happy birthday to Charles Boatwright who reached the big 62 on his birthday November 14. Mike Boatwright celebrated his birthday on November 8, and Pat Armour celebrated a birthday on November 15. Family night supper and mission meetings were held Sunday night with a good crowd attending. Christmas program practice is going on with the children and youth. Frances Fendley joined George and Mozelle Casey one day for a trip to Augusta to visit Virginia Fong. Debra Armour and Frances Fendley went to Crawford one day to visit Melvie Esco in Quiet Oaks Nursing Home. Frances Fendley joined Joan Perez and Richard Burkett one day for a trip to Athens and enjoyed eating at Shoney's. Rebecca Armour spent Saturday night with Frances Fendley. All the children of Elizabeth Smith visited her during the week. Mr. Ralph is now a resident of the Silver Leaf nursing home in Lawrenceville. Sudie Kennedy and Ruth Flynt went to Athens Monday and enjoyed looking around. Boyce and Pam Hall celebrated their wedding anniversary Saturday, November 11. Penny Vaughn of Martinez spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Annie Blanche Vaughn. Sandy Whittington and Avery Hall went to Crawford to have supper with Neil and Kim Frankel, Zachery and Kyle. Fred Weidner of the Armour Home in Lexington spent Saturday and Sunday with Clyde and Sandy Whittington. Joining Clyde and Sandy Whittington and Fred Weidner for Sunday brunch were Neil and Kim Frankel, Zachery and Kyle. Matthew Wideman was treated to a birthday supper Sunday by his father, James Wideman, at their home. Mathew's favorite meal of hamburgers and hotdogs and the trimmings were enjoyed by George and Ann Wideman and Watson Wideman who joined Mathew and James. Afterwards they had birthday cake and ice cream. Peggy Echols joined her sister, Sybil Hayes, and her family for Sunday dinner. Angela Armour, Samantha, Cody, and Hunter, Will Callaway, Scott and Sissy Smith, J.T. and Abby, Richard and Lou Heard, Mattie and Hank, enjoyed Sunday dinner with Buck and Linda Echols. Y'all have a good week and don't let the frost bite your toes.
