Our community was deeply saddened by the death Friday evening of Evans Davis after a long illness. He grew up in Lundberg and lived here most of his life. He was a faithful member of Clifford's Grove Baptist Church and was a deacon. Our deepest sympathy is extended to Sue and all their family. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be sorely missed. Many friends and relatives gathered at the Hopkins Funeral Home Sunday night to be with the family.

Members at services at Clifford's Grove Sunday were happy to see James Braxton back with us and feeling much better. He was in the hospital in Athens last Sunday and was missed. Mrs. Juanita Bradford and Mrs. John Sutherland visited Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bradford and also visited April Cosby and new baby in Thomson. Lunch guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky McCarty Sunday was Mrs. Cheryle Holsclaw, formerly of Union Point. She recently moved to Washington. Ann Caldwell of Statesboro spent Friday night with Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer, coming especially to attend the Fanning County and

Washington-Wilkes football game. Whitney and Charlie Branham accompanied her to the game. Mrs. Justin Turner and Harrison of Elberton visited their grandmother, Mrs. Iris Dyson, Tuesday evening. Elizabeth Barber of Athens had lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance Sunday.
