Funeral services for Evans O. Davis, 68, of Lundberg Road, Washington, were held Monday, November 13, 2006, at the Clifford's Grove Baptist Church, Lundberg, with Rev. O'Neal Martin and Peter Hoffmann officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. He died Friday, November 10, in Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington.

Mr. Davis was a native of Wilkes County and had lived here all of his life. He was the son of the late Noel C. Davis and Annie Laurie Evans Davis. He was a retired 911 operator, and a member and deacon of the Clifford's Grove Baptist Church. He had been employed by Belk's in Washington. Survivors include his wife, Sue

Stevens Davis, Washington; a daughter, Faye Scoggins, and her husband Bill of Augusta; two grandchildren, Dylan and Hannah Scoggins, Augusta; and two brothers, Gerald Davis, Lincolnton, and Lane Davis of Thomson.

Pallbearers included Dylan Scoggins, Ricky Stevens, Ty Davis, Scott Blaine, Coryer Poss, and Bobby Stevens.
