H. Neal Fendig

A memorial service for H. Neal Fendig, 76, of St. Simons Island was held November 6, 2006, at St. Simons Presbyterian Church on King's Way. Graveside services were held earlier at Christ Church for family and invited friends. He died Friday, November 3, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Mr. Fendig was the son of the late Edwin R. Fendig of Brunswick and Emwynn Neal Fendig of Washington Wilkes and St. Simons. The Fendigs visited their Neal relatives in Washington-Wilkes in the 1940s. Other Neal relatives live in Gainesville, Athens, and Commerce, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Hardy Fendig, St. Simons Island; four sons, Cap Fendig, Ben Fendig, and Joe Fendig of St. Simons, and Wynn Fendig of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a brother, Edwin Fendig Jr. of St. Simons; 12 grandchildren; and thee great-grandchildren.
