Ashley Turner and Ames Barnett honored at shower
Engaged couple Ashley Turner and Ames Barnett were honored at a Pampered Chef shower on Sunday afternoon, November 12, in the Mary Callaway Burton Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church. Hostesses for the occasion were Amy Johnston and Sissy Murray.
Guests included members of the Acteens mission group that Miss Turner assists in teaching and members of Mr. Barnett's Sunday School class. Also present were the brideelect's mother, Connie Turner of Lawrenceville, and the prospective bridegroom's mother, Nancy Barnett of Washington.
Miss Turner wore a white and red ensemble and was presented a corsage composed of a Pampered Chef wooden spoon and assorted herbs.
Instead of registering in the bride's book, guests signed an apron that was presented to the couple.
Festive Christmas decorations were used and a holiday wreath hung on the door. Inside, colors of pink, green and red added to the holiday spirit. A small Christmas tree decorated in pink and green centered the food table from which guests enjoyed a delicious assortment of desserts. Lime punch was also served.
Other tables held covers that were festively stamped and decorated with ribbon and glitter. Assisting in decorating were Acteen members, Molly Newsome and Elizabeth Duggan, and members of Mr. Barnett's Sunday School class, Zach and Cory Murray and Thomas Duggan.
A Pampered Chef consultant delighted guests as she demonstrated many of her wares and prepared numerous desserts for all to enjoy.
