Porter Wright Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cread Brown of Thomson, was administered the Sacrament of Baptism by Senior Pastor Rev. John Kerr assisted by Associate Pastor Rev. Liza Marler at the First United Methodist Church in Thomson Sunday morning, November 12.

For the service Porter wore a white cotton christening suit with a white cross embroidered on the collar that belonged to his brother Luke.

Attending the service with Porter were his parents and Luke; also, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Adam Vining of Gainesville, Mrs. Edwin Fortson of Tignall, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hale, Emmeline and Isabelle, of Athens, and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Gunter Jr. of Washington.

After the service, the group went to the Brown home on Hickory Hill Drive where they enjoyed a delicious luncheon and an afternoon of fun and fellowship.
