I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It is so nice when families can be together and enjoy the good food, fun, and fellowship on such a special day. God is so good and we have so much to be thankful for. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance, James Lance, and Elizabeth Barber spent Wednesday through Friday with Sue's mother, Mrs. Joe Johnson, in Tifton. After spending several days in Washington, Rev. and Mrs. Clarence Lance left Monday to return to Fort Oglethorpe. Mr. and Mrs. James Braxton left Wednesday to go to St. Simons Island to spend the Thanksgiving holidays with Mr. and Mrs. James Braxton III. They returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Josh Caldwell of Statesboro spent Tuesday and Wednesday night with Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer. They spent the day Wednesday with Whitney and Charlie Branham. Having Thanksgiving dinner with Carl, Agnes, Ryan, and Philip Hayden in Martinez were James and Samille Sherrer, Ray, Gay, Whitney, and Charlie Branham, Edward and Terri Branham of McCaysville, Josh and Ann Caldwell of Statesboro, and Philip and Mae Dell Huff of Athens. Mrs. Iris Dyson joined Lance and Sally Hopkins, John and Emily for Thanksgiving dinner. Mrs. Juanita Bradford joined Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bradford and enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at Ryan's in Thomson. Mrs. John Sutherland is at home and recovering from surgery she had in the Lexington, S.C., Hospital Monday. We hope she will soon be feeling better.
