Ouida and Wilbur Maney celebrated their fifty-third wedding anniversary November 20. Wilbur and Ouida Maney celebrated their fifty-third wedding anniversary November 20. They were married in the First Baptist Church in San Angelo, Texas.

Wilbur, a Georgia boy, was an Air Force airman, stationed in San Angelo. Ouida, a Mississippi girl, lived with an aunt and uncle, and worked as a secretary for the Boys Ranch of West Texas. They met at the First Baptist Church where they both attended a very active young adult Sunday School class.

Wilbur had an honorable discharge from the Air Force and they were married shortly after; lived on the Boys Ranch for a little longer than a year; then came to Georgia where they have lived ever since.
