Tiger basketball team starts slow but expects to compete well in AA
      Going into Tuesday night's game against Greenbrier at Evans, the Washington-Wilkes Tigers boys basketball team was still a little unsure of itself - understandably, the boys had had only five practices together since the end of football season when most of the players reported for the first time. And so, in the infancy of the 2006-2007 season, W-W is on the short end of a 1- 2 record.

Wrestlers win against Madison, Stephens; three finish well in Mountain tournament
      On Tuesday, November 28, the Washington-Wilkes Tiger wrestlers traveled to Madison County to take on the Red Raiders and Stephens County. The Tigers won six out of eight matches against Madison.

Tigers' accomplishments for '06 are many
      At the conclusion of the Washington Wilkes Tigers' 2006 football season, Head Coach Russell Morgan has pointed out that even though the season ended on a loss (as every playoff team must except for the state champion), there were quite a few accomplishments worth celebrating made by the team and its members.
