Wilkes Relay for Life to hold fundraiser at Woman's Club lunch

As its first fundraiser for the 2007 Relay For Life, Washington-Wilkes volunteers will sponsor a luncheon for Christmas Tour of Homes visitors.

A soup and salad luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Woman's Club on North Alexander Avenue. A choice of homemade soups, salads, desserts and beverages will be served for a $7 donation.

Donations will support the 2007 Wilkes County Relay for Life scheduled for May 4-5. Washington- Wilkes' partnership with the American Cancer Society represents the community's effort in taking up the fight against cancer.

As a participant in the Relay For Life, Wilkes County celebrates those who have lost their battle with cancer, those living with and fighting cancer, and supports elimination of cancer by generating funds for research at the national level.

The Wilkes County Relay For Life committee members and volunteers encourage tour guests and Washington Wilkes people to take a break on tour day and join them for a hot bowl of homemade soup.
