Tignall Baptist fetes servants at appreciation steak dinner

The Tignall Baptist Church hosted an appreciation steak supper last Thursday night for the county and community service people who contribute so much to the county, consisting of the Tignall Volunteer Fire Department; Washington Fire Department; Blake Thompson and his EMS crew; Commissioner Jerry Stover; Wilkes County Sheriff’s Department; County Dispatcher; 911 Operator; Georgia State Patrol; Tignall First Responders; District Attorney Bill Doupe; Tignall Policeman Larry Fort; Tignall City Council members; Tignall Jack-ofall trades Clyde Davis, and Mayor Richard Gammon.

Rev. Dale Fincher had a few jokes to tell on some of these people, but one was told on him by Ronnie Futch. Thanks to the Rogers brothers who cooked the delicious steaks and all the other members of the church who helped prepare this meal.

Everyone was especially surprised and pleased to see Bobby Wilson there even though he was on crutches. He had been in the way of a runaway truck at the Citgo station that morning.
