The Frances Wheelis Women on Mission of the First Baptist Church continued their more than 30-year tradition of Christmas caroling and soup fellowship as they gathered in the Mary Callaway Burton Fellowship Hall Tuesday evening, December 12, to board the bus for the evening’s festivities.

After caroling around Washington and in Tignall, the group returned to the church for piping hot vegetable soup and cornbread prepared by Julia and Dennis Palmer, and sandwiches and desserts brought by members.

Members also brought packages for Penfield Christian Home as a part of their December missions project.

Enjoying the evening were Judy and James Bland, Melanie and Tom Wells, Kay and Pug Nelms, Rosemary Hopkins, Jerry Stover, Gail Stewart, Elizabeth and Charles Pope, Teresa and Bill Bishop, Julia and Dennis Palmer, and Susan and Edward Pope Jr.
