Artists called to show at Court St. Livery April 1-2 A call for artists has been issued for the Artists' Marketplace to be held just off The Square on Spring Tour of Homes weekend. Artists have been invited to participate in the Court Street Livery Artist and Artisan Market, April 1 and 2, organizer Debbie Wells said. "This event will take place in the newly restored Court Street Livery, in the former mule barn of the Fitzpatrick Hotel." The Livery is at 16 Court Street, across from Dycom and the old jail, half a block off The Square. The event coincides with the Spring Tour of Homes, when hundreds of extra visitors fill the city to tour Washington's historic homes. "We are providing Market information to all ticket holders of the Tour as they are mailed out," Wells said. "In addition, we are marketing regionally to promote our artists, and to capture shoppers looking for special and unique gifts." Wells said that she expects artists working in jewelry, paint, clay, fiber, glass, metal, photography, sculpture, and wood. To make the event open to as many local artists as possible, she said, she is keeping prices to a minimum - $100 for a 10 x 10 exhibit space, and $65 for a 6 x 6 space. "Booth sharing is allowed and encouraged, though you need to let us know each artist who will share your booth and there is a $15 charge for each extra artist," she said. The show will be entirely indoors, and the venue will be secured at night.
To sign up, contact Debbie Wells at (706) 318-8190.
