British Columbian ladies set retreat for Washington

A group of ladies from The Potter's House Community Church in Westbank, British Columbia, Canada, are making preparations to come to Washington in just a few weeks. They will arrive April 18 and are coming to present a ladies retreat at First Baptist Church. So how is it that a group of ladies from Canada would be coming to Washington, Georgia for a ladies retreat?

Last September, all ladies at The Potter's House Community Church were asked to prayerfully consider going to Georgia to present a ladies retreat for churches there. When the first meeting was held in late September, twenty-two women came to hear the vision as shared by Alicia Madden.

The ladies were told that the purpose of this trip was to go to Georgia to thank all of the churches that have so freely given to The Potter's House and helped as this church was planted and has grown in Westbank, British Columbia. The ladies were asked to pray and see if they felt led to go and to serve at this retreat. They were told that they would be responsible for providing the funds to pay their own way. After prayerful consideration, 15 women felt led to make the trip to Georgia.

In October the women began to meet every other Sunday afternoon for prayer and preparation for the retreat. Each week, the women have prayed, read scripture, and shared testimonies of what God is doing in their lives. Through this process a theme scripture verse of 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 was revealed and from that the theme of "Unveiled" was decided upon.

Several women have felt led to lead breakout sessions on topics such as "Listening - Prayer - How to Hear from God," "Unveiled Before the Father - Seeing God as our Father," "Sharing Your Faith in Today's World," and "Being Obedient to God."

There is much excitement among this group of Canadian women about coming to the South! They look forward to experiencing "Southern Hospitality." But they are most excited about serving others and sharing testimonies of God's goodness and changed lives.
