Heard's Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate the pastor's anniversary Sunday, September 3, 12:00 p.m.
Rock United Methodist Church will have homecoming August 20, 11 a.m., with District Superintendent Rev. Gary Dean as the speaker. Covered dish dinner will follow the service.
Transforming Life Ministries will celebrate its 13th anniversary and the birthday and pastoral celebration of founder and convener, Amethyst D. Wynn, on September 3, 4:30 p.m., at the Third Shiloh Center, 219 McLendon Drive, Washington. The guest speaker will be Bishop Jonathan Greer II and his congregation from the Cathedral of Divine Love Church in Atlanta will be the guest church and choir along with the Springfield Community Choir, Washington. Dinner will be served and the public is invited. The Washington Lions Club will have chicken barbecue plates for sale on Saturday, August 12, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the clubhouse on Spring Street. Cost is $6.00 per plate. Tickets may be obtained from any member of the club or by calling Mary Hubbard, president, at 706-678-2422. Orders may also be called in that morning at 706-678-2951. The last barbecue was a sell-out before 10:30 a.m., so it may be wise the get tickets early.
The Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Fall Fashion Show will be held Saturday, August 12, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at the VFW Post Home on Andrew Drive. Tickets are $12 each and include lunch, fashion show, and terrific door prizes. Tickets are available at Bee Southern, Tena's Jewelry, and Den of Antiquities, or call Lefreda Adair at 706-678-1448.
Reeves Chapel Baptist Church will have homecoming Sunday, August 20, 11:45 a.m. Revival services will be held August 21-25 7:30 p.m., with Rev. Bryant of the Martin Chapel Baptist Church of Athens as the speaker. Regular services are held on the first and third Sundays of each month.
New Suttons Temple Baptist Church, 108 Alabama St., Washington, will have revival services August 10-11, 7:30 p.m. Bishop William Hollis of the Full Gospel Church of God and founder of WMOC 88.7 FM radio station in Lumber City, will be the speaker each night. Pastor Roy Burns, Assistant Minister Katrina Owens and the congregation extend an invitation to everyone to attend.
Phillips Mill Baptist Church will have homecoming on Sunday, August 13, during the morning worship service. A covered dish lunch will be served following this service with the meat provided by the church. Revival services will be held August 13-16, with a different speaker each night.

Clifford Grove Baptist Church, Rayle, will have homecoming Sunday, August 13, 11:15 a.m., and revival services August 16-18, 7:30 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. A.J. Richardson of Atlanta.
Black Rock AME Church will have revival services August 16- 18 at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Reginald Hunter of New Springhill Baptist Church will preach on Wednesday; Rev. Joe Glaze of Pole Branch Baptist Church, on Thursday; and Rev. Juanita Wilkinson Gearins on Friday. The Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a uniform and shoe sale in the main lobby of the hospital on August 18, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
First Baptist Church, Washington, will have a women's Bible Study beginning Wednesday morning, August 16, 9 a.m.; and Thursday evening, August 17, 7 p.m. The study will be a 12-session study of the book of Daniel by Beth Moore. Cost is $16 for a workbook. These will be available in the church office and at the first session. Child care will be provided.
