Thanks to all who came to the church for cleanup day Saturday morning. After his doctor's appointment in Augusta Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Evans Davis visited Mr. and Mrs. Bill Scoggins and family. Mrs. Iris Dyson visited Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Blaine of Dahlonega visited Mr. and Mrs. Evans Davis Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Stevens visited Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer went to Berry Funeral Home Monday night for visitation time with the family of Gene Brooks who died Sunday. He was a longtime friend of James. James also attended his funeral Tuesday morning at the funeral home. James Sherrer went to Comer Monday to visit friends at Cobb Health Care. He visited Bob King of Carlton and his wife Frances who was with him. He saw Clarence McCarty of Danielsville whom he had not seen in over 60 years. James went from there to Danielsville to see Mrs. McCarty (Sue Harwell). The Harwells were friends and neighbors of the Sherrer family in Carlton when James was a child. He really enjoyed his visit with her. While James was at the nursing home he was surprised to see an old classmate, Sidney Ann Stoyles, who had worked there for many years but now was a patient. She had fallen and broken her ankle. She told James an amazing story he would like to share. She was in her backyard at Comer playing with her Chihuahua dog when she fell and couldn't get up. The little dog ran off and went about four or five blocks dodging traffic and crossing two streets to get to the veterinarian's office. He kept barking and scratching at the door until the doctor came to the door. He recognized the dog and realized something was wrong. He put the dog in his truck and went to her house and found Sidney Ann on the ground. He called 911 and she was carried to the hospital. Now that is a smart little pup! Sidney Ann will be in the nursing home until her leg is well. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bradford of Thomson visited his mother, Mrs. Juanita Bradford, Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. John Sutherland joined them.
