Rev. Huyck's sermon at Ebenezer Baptist Church Sunday was on bearing and sharing burdens. It was a good message and I thought an extra good sermon. We had a good crowd, and a fellowship meal was held after the service. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hall placed a pretty arrangement of summer flowers in the sanctuary. Mrs. Mona Hall is our homebound person of the month at Ebenezer. Her address is 184 Pine Lane (Washington Manor), Washington. Send her a card and visit her if you can. Happy birthday to Thomas Charping, Lillie Crawford, Dot Shank, Vonnie Tucker, Inez Hall, and Linda Smith this week. Joe Shank, Miss Dot's son, shares the same birthday with his mother. Joe will be the big 60 on August 8. He lives in Lexington, S.C. Kenneth Shank of Atlanta spent Friday with Mrs. Dot Shank. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keen, Melissa Ponds, Tristen and Hunter of Gainesville, Fla., spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Gay last week. Eloise Keen is Lois' sister. Supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Durham Sunday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Durham, Nathan and Levi, Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Hite and Will, Mr. and Mrs. Chad Durham and Hunter. Cory Hite of Norfolk, Va., visited Mr. and Mrs. Durham recently. Chad Durham and family have moved into their mobile home on Aonia Road. We wish them well. School has begun, so be careful with all the buses and extra traffic in our county. Good luck to all and I hope they will have a good school term. Little Chip Haynes has started Pre-K. Janet Clayton is his teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips, Stephanie Haynes, Chip and Skyla, had dinner at Ryan's in Thomson Sunday. Wade Dunnaway and wife Lisa hosted a get-together at Elijah Clark State Park in Lincoln County for the Little River Circuit Saturday. Those from our community going were Rev. Craig Yoshihara and family (new pastor), Mrs. Sara Huff, Mrs. Linda Standard and Peyton, and Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Dunnaway. They report a great time of fun, food, and fellowship. Peyton Standard spent several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Standard. On Sunday, Russell Goldman of Doraville and Sara Huff enjoyed dinner with the Standards. Peyton visited his aunt, Sara Huff, Sunday evening. Other visitors of Mrs. Huff were Russell Goldman of Doraville, Randy Goldman of Lincoln County, and Connie Johnson and Misty, also of Lincoln County. Mrs. Jean Steed, Betty Moore, and Mrs. Barbara Adams enjoyed an 85th birthday celebration for Mrs. Rose Ware Sunday. Mrs. Ware is their aunt. It was held in the fellowship hall of Fishing Creek Baptist Church. I'd like to wish Miss Rose a very happy birthday and many more. She is a sweet lady. Mrs. Lucille T. Ingram visited Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Davenport and Tyler in Hayesville, N.C. Trudy Ingram met Lisa Davenport in Commerce and Mrs. Ingram returned home Sunday. Later in the day, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Ryll, Connor and Calley visited Mrs. Ingram. Mrs. Florence Ingram is not feeling well. We hope she gets well soon. Vickey Glenn visited her mother during the weekend to help her out. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Glenn's grandchildren, Zander and Tristan, spent the weekend with them and Laura Harper. Mrs. Walter Tuttle, Mrs. Hill O'Neal, and Mrs. Henry O'Pry of Athens visited Mrs. Mary Boldin in Augusta recently. They carried Miss Mary out to lunch. Bobbi Thornton visited Miss Grace Dunaway last week. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Dunaway also visited Miss Grace and Alex Dunaway. Rev. and Mrs. Jim Newsome of Vero Beach, Fla., are visiting Mrs. Jenelle Newsome last week and this week. They all went to Travelers Rest, S.C., for Jim to attend a seminar Tuesday through Friday. The ladies enjoyed other things while Jim was in training. Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Newsome and Anna of Martinez have returned from Canada where they visited Mrs. Newsome's relatives. Last Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Newsome and Anna visited Mrs. Jenelle Newsome and Rev. and Mrs. Jim Newsome, enjoying lunch with them. On Sunday, Jenelle, Jim, and Karan visited the Jamie Newsomes in Martinez and had lunch with them. I visited my parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wallace, in Lincoln County several days last week. G.B. and I had dinner with them Sunday. Other

visitors of the Wallaces during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Goff of McCormick, S.C., and Garnett Wallace who came especially to mow the lawn. Mrs. Walter Tuttle joined Mr. and Mrs. Robbie Newsome, Jacob and Brandon for a recent week at Hilton Head, S.C. They all had a great time. Our visitors for the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Nick Gaines and Tanner Barnett of Oglethorpe County. Burt Newsome, Shannon Thomason and Wesley Butler also dropped by during the week and weekend. Sara Huff visited Sunday afternoon. Please pray for all our sick in our area. Sincere love and sympathy to all who lose loved ones recently. Our prayers are with you all. We are thankful for all the rain. I hope all the county received some. Pray for more. Remember the elderly and homebound. Also attend the church of your choice Sunday.
