Characters bring laughs as Greater Tuna' debuts tonight This writer had the privilege to attend a dress rehearsal for "Greater Tuna," the very funny comedy which opens at the Washington Little Theater tonight at 8:00 p.m. The play is a well-known and much appreciated Broadway hit written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard. After a 20-year tour of the United States it has finally arrived in our beautiful city. The play is a fast-paced, diverse comedy depicting one day in a country radio station in Tuna, Texas. The portrayed characters are a vast range of men, women, children and pets, all expertly played by two actors. Bradley Barber is the director of the show and also one of the main characters. Bradley is a graduate of the New York City American Musical and Dramatic Academy. The other half of this dynamic duo is Graham Maurer, currently a student at the University of Georgia majoring in drama. The chemistry of the two actors and the energy they brought forth was wonderful. It is the characters themselves, however, that bring forth the continuous laughter. The adult themes celebrate such serious topics as bigotry, censorship, and addiction in a fictitious and delightful way. Paul Scott handles the sound; Brandon Sapp does the lights; and kudos go to Sarah Peacock and Charlie Houpt for the hilarious costumes and the continuously quick dressing and undressing of the actors.
Don't miss this wonderful show. Bring a friend and get ready to laugh out loud. Timing is everything, who knew, who knew, who knew. . . .
