Kathy Burgess Cheek marries John F. Richardson III on July 8
The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Caleb Burgess of Washington. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Marie B. Jordan of Cayce, S.C., and the late John F. Richardson Jr. The bride wore a Scala design of candlelight satin with a lace overlay. The bodice featured handbeaded pearls and flowed into a chapel-length train. She wore pearl earrings and borrowed a pearl necklace from her daughter-in-law, given to her on her wedding day by the bride's son. She carried a bouquet of white roses and a linen handkerchief that belonged to her maternal grandmother, Mrs. R. E. Beggs. Mrs. Terry Callaway of Glouster, Va., childhood friend, and Kevin Lamar Cheek of Hull, son of the bride, stood with the couple during the ceremony. Katelyn Montoya of Tularosa, N. Mex., great-niece of the bride, served as the flower girl. She wore an ankle-length Alfred Angelo design of candlelight satin with a scalloped hem. The bodice was covered with pearls and flowers and was finished with a bias ribbon at the waist. She carried a white basket of rose petals. Mr. and Mrs. Richardson are making their home in Watkinsville. The bride is employed by Athens Clarke County Public Utilities and the bridegroom is Manufacturing Operations Manager at Conwed Global Netting Solutions. Family attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Martin H. Burgess of Washington, Molly Burgess of Athens, Mr. and Mrs. Donnie H. Burgess of Crawford, Mrs. Jimmy Montoya, Emma and Olivia, of Tularosa, N. Mex., Mr. and Mrs. Edward B. Lane Jr. of Rutherfordton, N. C., Mr. and Mrs. David Parker and Taylor Watts of Lexington, S.C., Mrs. Marilyn Lambert of Gainesville, Mrs. Kay Meadow and Mrs. Kelly Attaway of Hull. Wedding Celebration Mr. and Mrs. John F. Richardson III entertained family and friends on Saturday, July 29, with an outdoor party at their home. Guest tables and the buffet table were covered with white cloths and placed under tents. Barbecued chicken with all the trimmings, prepared by Charlie Burgess and Donnie Burgess, brothers of the bride, were enjoyed with an assortment of desserts and drinks.
The musical group, Dawg Town, entertained the approximately 120 guests in attendance.
