Minan Maxwell returns from Alaskan cruise Minan Maxwell was awarded a seven-day trip for two to Alaska by her employer, Central Programs Incoporated - Gumdrop Books. Mrs. Maxwell and her daughter, Jere Lin Maxwell Hutter of Covington, returned July 28 from a seven-day cruise aboard Celebrity Cruise Lines, Mercury. They flew to Seattle, Wash., to board the ship and continued to Juneau where they began a true adventure of breathtaking sights. In Skagway they took the scenic railway to White Path and the Yukon enjoying the beautiful Skagway River and waterfalls. A highlight of the trip was seeing the Hubbard Glacier, the largest tidewater glacier on the North American Continent, and enjoying the magnificent colors within the glacier. Ketchikan was interesting as they visited Totem State Park. The wonders of nature were evident as they viewed bald eagles and whales along the way. They returned to Seattle via the inside passage and British Columbia.
Mrs. Maxwell visited the Hutter family in Covington several days before returning to Washington.
