Food distribution planned Aug. 24 at Third Shiloh

The CSRA Economic Opportunity Authority Inc. will have a mass food distribution in Wilkes County on August 24.

The distribution will be conducted at the Third Shiloh Mission Center, 219 McLendon Drive, Washington, from 9 a.m. until noon, or until all the food is gone.

The food is for low-income and elderly persons, serving a total of 125 families in Wilkes County, and will provide fruits, vegetables, canned meats, and juices. Each family will be provided one bag of food on a first come, first served basis.

Persons wishing to receive food must bring a picture identification and know their household size (number living in the home) and the monthly income for the family.

Persons interested in volunteering to assist with unloading the delivery truck and/or bagging food items are encouraged to arrive on site at 8 a.m.

For more information, contact Shaundra Dority at (706) 738-4145.
