Blood drive set today at First Methodist from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The quarterly Washington-Wilkes Community Blood Drive sponsored by the Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will be held Thursday, August 17, from 2 to 7 p.m.

The drive will be at a different location this time. Because of the renovation of the Edward B. Pope Community Center where the drive is usually held, Shepeard Community Blood Center will set up its facilities in the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church at the corner of Liberty and Spring streets.

This quarter's drive seeks to collect 55 units of blood from Washington Wilkes donors. Anyone who is 17 years old or older and weighs 110 lbs. or more and who is in good health can be a blood donor.

Members of the Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will greet donors, and provide refreshments and Tshirts for each donor.
