Roy Wallace Wheatley Funeral services for Roy Wallace Wheatley, 56, of Metasville Road, Washington, were held Tuesday, August 15, 2006, in Rehoboth Baptist Church, Metasville, with Rev. Herman Bradley and Rev. Dale Fincher officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died Saturday, August 12. Mr. Wheatley was a native of Wilkes County and had lived in the Metasville area all of his life. He was the son of George and Sara Wheatley and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. He was a self-employed farmer, a member of the Wilkes County Cattlemen's Association, and also worked at the Wilkes County Stockyard. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Stribling Wheatley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lenny and Amy Wheatley, and Bruce and Sheila Wheatley; his parents, George and Sara Wheatley; a grandchild, Mason Wheatley; two brothers, Douglas Wheatley and Herman Wheatley; and a sister, Claunette W. Morgan, all of Washington. Pallbearers included Kyle Brown, Wade Hall, Doug Bratcher, Graydon Bobo, Larry Veasey, and Tommy Dent
Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
