Bailey, Latimer descendants gather for reunion August 5 Descendants of Simon Bailey of Metasville and John Peace Latimer of Oglethorpe County gathered for a family reunion in Washington at the Fitzpatrick Hotel on Saturday, August 5. The reunion was held in conjunction with the celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the founding of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Metasville where most of the Bailey and many of the Latimer ancestors attended church. Clark Henry Latimer, brother of Sarah Frances "Fannie" Latimer Wynne and Luther "Luke" Wesley Latimer, was the first person buried in the Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery. Approximately 60 descendants from eight different states attended the reunion on Saturday and many spent the afternoon touring family cemeteries and Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery. Also, many attended Rehoboth Baptist Church services on Sunday. "Bill" Sorrow of Nicholson; and Katie Lou Bryan Graham of Jacksonville, Fla.
